The feminist association Federação Brasileira pelo Progresso Feminino (Brazilian Federation for Women’s Progress), which was led by biologist Bertha Lutz, played an important role in the struggle for women's liberation in Brazil. In this article we analyze the record group that bears its name and investigate the trajectory of the organization during the period of the Brazilian civil-military regime.
