What feminism? Reflexions on conservative feminism and the militant writing of Amélia Rodrigues (1861-1926)

Abstract

The article discusses the relations between feminism and catholic conservatism from the beginning of the 20th century, a subject that has not been widely explored by women's studies. It also analyzes the disputes around the meaning of feminism in Amélia Rodrigues's texts, a writer from Bahia, starting from her considerations about suffragism and the social action of catholic women.
